My poems are fragments of memory, unspoken truths, and unexpected tenderness. Written under the weight of trauma and light of insight, they are not meant to fix, but to witness. May something in them meet you where words usually fail.
PINK ELEPHANTS
What delirium lingers there -

slightest of grins
planted on waxy red lips?
Poised in a corner chair,
jelly-roll thighs snugly crossed,
as ladies do
Pudgy pink toes gape
from slick sandals
of white patent leather
Dimpled knees protrude -
vulgar -
beneath ruffled taffeta
What business does the visage intend,
uninvited
in Mother's white-glove parlor?
Mother dusts by -
no notice or nod
of the Pink, who, tongue poking out
traffics disrespect
Eyes wide
I look to the Pink,
finger to pursed lips -
whispering:
shhhhhhsh
